Dr. Powers is originally from Milford, NY. Before receiving his DVM from Cornell University, he attended SUNY Delhi, SUNY Oneonta, and the University of Florida. He did a residency in large animal ambulatory medicine at Cornell, where he also originally coauthored the online diagnostic database “Consultant.” He worked in private practice in Jamestown, NY and Clinton, NY before returning to Cooperstown.

Dr. Powers enjoys many aspects of medicine, particularly radiology, ultrasound imaging, and certain orthopedic procedures. At home, he keeps a small beef herd, chickens, horses, and honeybees. He also enjoys gardening, photography, and history.
